Lower Township Recreation Offers Adult Fitness Programs

The Lower Township Department of Parks and Recreation is offering a number of activities to help keep fit in the new year. The Lower Township Department of Parks and Recreation is offering an all-weather workout for every fitness level such as yoga on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. beginning Jan. 15. and HIFITNESS ACADEMY Monday- Friday at 9 a.m.
HIFITNESS is a new and exciting fitness class designed to build muscle, burn calories and learn nutrition while working with others. The training program is very similar to Police Academy work outs.
The class is conducted by Certified Master Personal Trainer and Sports Nutritionist Heather McNulty. At HIFITNESS, participants train together in groups and also divide into smaller groups and pairs. Some of the activities include stretching, running or walking, plyometrics and calisthenics. HIFITNESS gives you the support, guidance and encouragement needed to reach and maintain your fitness goals.

The Lower Township Department of Parks and Recreation is continuing the popular walk-in Yoga classes at the township recreation center.
Instructor Karen Manette Bosna teaches Yoga on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The practice involves stretching postures, called asanas, breath work and meditation. The class is open to all levels, including anyone who is new to the practice of yoga.
“Striving is what it’s all about, with the emphasis on enhancing well-being and to honor, respect and listen to the body,” Bosna said of her yoga classes.
Bosna is a certified Yoga instructor who has been teaching in Cape May County for the past 20 plus years and has taught in different local Yoga studios, health fitness centers, school systems, and community organizations. Bosna has a passion for Yoga and is grateful and honored for the opportunity to share her awareness on a personal basis in her local community.
Yoga will be held on Tuesday evenings from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m beginning January 15. Classes are walk-in and no pre-registration is required. The fee for Yoga is $5.
