SAGGIOMO, MARTIN J.,

SAGGIOMO, MARTIN J., “MARTY” 78 – of West Cape May, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2013, at home as a result of skin cancer. Marty was born in Philadelphia in 1934 and graduated from Bartram High School in 1952. He served as a proud Marine from 1955 until 1959 and retired as a District Supervisor on the Garden State Parkway in 1994. Marty was a serious and successful deer hunter. Some of his favorite memories were of hunting trips with his Dad and family and more recently with his friends at “the cabin.” Marty was predeceased by his parents, Lucy and Herb Saggiomo, and his brother, Richard. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Loretta (nee Fox) Saggiomo; his daughters, Joanne (Sandy) McCullough, Jane (David Mestre), and Janine (Josh Goldberg); his grandchildren, Matthew and Taryn McCullough and Luke, Will, Max and Cali Rose Flosdorf; his sister, Marie “Betty” Chiriaco and her family; and his brother-in-law, Doug LaBarr and his family. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 6, at 2 PM in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington Street, Cape May, where friends will be received from 12:30 PM until 2 PM. Interment will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery, Lower Township.
