DICKINSON, ROSEMARIE
Rosemarie Dickinson, 88, of Cold Spring, went to her heavenly home on May 19, 2025, while surrounded by her children in the comfort of her home. She was a steadfast Christian, devoted wife, nurturing mother and loyal friend. To many she was known as “Miss Rose.” Rose was born on July 4, 1936, in Vineland, NJ, to Fred and Rosine Feller.
She moved to Cape May while in 6th grade and graduated from Cape May High School, Class of 1954. As a faithful member of the Tabernacle United Methodist Church, Rose taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, sang in the choir, was President of the United Methodist Women, and participated in the Good News Players musicals. She was active in the community where she served as President of the PTA for the Lower Township School Districts, chaired Red Cross Blood Drives, served on the Board of Directors for the Cape May County Junior Miss Program, and was also a 4-H leader. “Miss Rose” taught preschool for 30 years. At the age of 56, she earned her Associate in Arts Degree from Atlantic Community College and became a substitute teacher for the Lower Township Elementary School District.
Rose was predeceased by her loving husband, George “Ted” Dickinson; son, Dave Dickinson; daughter, Diane Dickinson Herbst; sister, Elsie Law and brother, Fred Feller. She will be deeply missed by her children, Debra Schellinger (Ralph), Daniel Dickinson (Lisa), and Dawn Hinker (Michael); son-in-law, Thomas Herbst; grandchildren, Lauren Armour, Sean Schellinger, Colby and Logan Dickinson, Julia and Zeb Hinker, Rosemary and Annemarie Herbst, Dave, Donn and Holly Righter, and Courtland Dickinson; 13 great grandchildren and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be take place on Saturday (May 31st) at 11am in the Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 702 Seashore Road, Erma where there will be a viewing and the family will receive friends from 9:30am until 10:45am. Interment will follow the service at the Tabernacle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rose's memory to the Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
