Donna Flegal is the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) Volunteer of the Month for August. MAC’s Director of External Affairs Eliza Lotozo, Director of Media Relations Susan Krysiak and Marketing Manager Leslie Weidel nominated Flegal especially for her hard work in helping publicize MAC events.
Donna is a retired IT specialist and joined MAC as a volunteer this spring. She has helped MAC’s publicity efforts greatly by submitting dozens of MAC events to a variety of media publications and non-media organizations via their online calendars. “This takes quite a bit of time, and Donna has really helped us out by taking this on. It’s an important task and vital to our ability to publicize our tours, activities and events,” said Krysiak. Flegal also has joined MAC staff and volunteers at outdoor festivals and pitches in enthusiastically.
“Donna has made herself a vital member of our volunteer corps with her enthusiasm and energy,” said Weidel. “We are truly fortunate to be able to rely on her as we do.” Donna’s attention to detail and organizational skills have been put to good use as she works remotely to keep MAC’s information up-to-date. “Donna’s willingness to be flexible and work from home is such an asset,” said Lotozo. “We have limited office space at MAC; when Donna realized that, she didn’t miss a beat and offered to work online from home. These are the kinds of things we appreciate so very much in our volunteers.”
