Take a Hike, Enjoy Summer Fun at Cape May National Wildlife Refuge

The Two Mile Beach Unit, a hidden gem in Cape May County, has nature trails, a protected beach, and a visitor & nature center with a lot to offer. Located at 12001 Pacific Ave, Wildwood Crest, the center has displays, nature-related items for sale, and information. Open Wednesday to Monday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Painting Classes: Janet McShain, an award-winning local artist, will be holding Plein Air painting classes on Thursdays on the following dates: August 1 & 15, and September 5. A $5 donation is requested. Supplies will be provided. Bring a hat and sunscreen.

Nature Story and Activity Hour: Thursday mornings from 10 to 11 a.m. throughout the summer.

Nature Walks: Every Saturday morning, join us for Free Family Friendly Nature Walks at 9 a.m. Loaner binoculars are available. Please bring water and sunscreen.

Bike & Hike: Every day, ride your bike to the refuge between 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., complete an activity, and receive a free sports pack and goodies for the family.

Junior Wildlife Refuge Manager Badge Scavenger Hunt: Daily, earn a Junior Manager badge.

Completed Rain Barrels: For a $25 donation, take home a completed rain barrel, which will provide nourishing water to a backyard garden and conserve water as well. Contact the Nature Center for details.

Special Event: Join Refuge Ranger Sam Dill for Wild Walk Wednesdays every week from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 2:30 p.m.
