SMITH, RALPH EDWARD

SMITH, RALPH EDWARD
Ralph Edward Smith, 75, of North Cape May, NJ, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025. Always known as Ed, he was a lifelong resident of Cape May County. He was born on June 25, 1950 in North Wildwood to the late Ralph Earl Smith and Doris Elaine Heuser Smith of South Dennis. Ed was a truck driver for many years for the Dee Lumber Company that was in Cape May Court House. He also was a custodian for many years in the Dennis Township School District a position he enjoyed.
Ed enjoyed riding motorcycles and was a Harley Davidson enthusiast. He also fancied himself an accomplished pool player! A big football fan, Ed shied away from the norm of this area and was a diehard Washington Redskins/Commanders fan, much to the chagrin of his son Patrick, who is an Eagles fan! Ed enjoyed old time television shows like The Lone Ranger and The A Team. Over the years Ed enjoyed sharing meals with friends at the Court House Diner, Villas Diner and Castaway Café his local haunts.
Ed is predeceased by his wife, Anne Davies Smith, his beloved daughter, Marianne Smith and his sisters, Patricia Anderson and Mary Scheuermann. He is survived by his son Patrick Smith of North Cape May, his brother Douglas Smith, and his sister Diane Himstedt.
Services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the Lower Township Senior Center, 2612 Bayshore Road, Villas, NJ 08251. Ed's family would like to thank the staff and the residents who frequent the Lower Township Senior Center for the loving part they played in Ed's life. He truly felt at home there. Their kindness to Ed will always be remembered. Condolences at
