BOVE, CARLO VINCENT
Carlo Vincent Bove, 93, passed away peacefully in his home in North Wildwood, surrounded by loved ones. Carlo was born in Philadelphia on October 20, 1932, and lived a long and happy life.
While serving in the U.S. Army and stationed in France, his adventurous spirit led him to hitch a ride on a plane to London, where he wandered into a dancehall and met a beautiful young lady named Valerie. They danced, fell in love, and began a story that would last a lifetime. Valerie soon moved to Philadelphia, and they married and built a wonderful life together.
Carlo was a U.S. Army veteran, a talented baker who owned and ran Carlo's Bakery in Rio Grande, and also had a cabinetry shop called Customcraft in Wildwood for almost 20 years. But what truly defined Carlo was his heart.
Everyone who met him loved him. He had a real way of making others feel seen, cared for, and at home. He treasured every moment with his family. especially gatherings filled with stories, laughter, and good food.
Carlo believed deeply in peace, compassion, and service to others. He was always showing up to help others in need, especially those struggling with poverty and homelessness. He gave freely, laughed often, and taught by example what it means to live with kindness.
In his later years, Carlo was lovingly cared for by his oldest granddaughter Sandy, who lived next door with her partner Tim, and their two boys Kaden and Miles. Together, they made sure that Carlo and his wife Valerie (“Mommom and Poppy”) were surrounded by love, joy, and family.
Carlo is survived by his beloved wife Valerie, his children Keith, Colette, Mark, and Carmen, his brothers Anthony and Vincent, his sister Francis, and his 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Carlo was predeceased by his eldest son Carlo Jr., his brother Mario, his sisters Josephine, Anna Marie, and Rosemary, and his grandson Kyle.
A service will be held Saturday, November 8 at Notre De La Mer Parish, St. Ann Church, 2901 Atlantic Avenue, Wildwood, NJ 08260. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Mass will begin at 11 a.m.
Flowers are welcome, or donations can be made to either Covenant House in Atlantic City or Lazarus House Food Pantry in Wildwood, in honor of Carlo's lifelong dedication to caring for others.
