The fun, high-energy beats of the dance band Love-Affair can make a dance machine out of anyone, any age. The band formed seven years ago and hasn’t left the stage since.
Performing throughout the year from Philly to New York, Love-Affair brings a mix of Motown and soul of the 60s, and dance and disco sounds of the 70s and 80s to their performances, and they’re sure to leave your dancing shoes well worn-out.
Drummer and manager Dominick Sica has been performing during his summers in Wildwood since he was 15-years-old.
“The band is inspired by watching the people have a good time and dance,” Sica said.
Along with Dom, Love-Affair consists of six other talents including singer Debbie Cosner, Rick on the trumpet, Bob on the saxophone, pianist Eric, Rob on the bass and vocals, and Mike on the guitar and vocals. The members are from all over the area, from South Philly to Egg Harbor Township.
Surprisingly, this is only a part-time gig for the group, which includes school teachers, real estate agents and waitresses. Their love for performing and making crowds get on their feet has blossomed into a musical experience for all who encounter the group at their shows. The crowd is always very responsive to the mix of Motown and rhythm and blues.
Some of the bands’ favorite songs to perform are, “The way you do that thing you do,” and “Superstition.” They always stick with what the people really like, because having a good time is what they’re all about.
Love Affair could be playing at your next party or wedding. Give Dom a call at 215-915-4131 or visit www.Love-Affair.org.
