COURT HOUSE – June 13: Today’s county COVID-19 report listed a new fatality, an 86-year-old woman, from a Dennis Township long-term care facility. The county also reported one additional community-based case, in Middle Township.
The county’s total case count now stands at 672, with 441 individuals off quarantine, 174 active cases, and 57 fatalities.
A June 6 Bucks County, Pa., Health Department press release stated that 11 new cases of COVID-19 were linked to a New Jersey resident, who attended several house gatherings at the shore.  Subsequent reporting identified one of those gatherings as a Cape May County Memorial Day party.
The New Jersey Department of Health indicated that health officials are working with Bucks County on contact tracing.
Today, the state announced 103 additional fatalities and 523 new cases. The state’s case total now stands at 166,605. The new deaths raised the number of fatalities to 12,589. The new death toll means that 24 more New Jerseyans have died from the pandemic than while serving in World War II.
Despite the grim death count, the infection continues to slow. Gov. Phil Murphy said the numbers are “going meaningfully in the right direction.”
