TRENTON – A bill that would allow a county or municipal government that is the licensed operator of a home health agency to contract with a non-government entity licensed as a home health agency to provide direct services, administration, and financial services on behalf of the government home health agency was signed into law July 19.
According to a release, the legislation (A-3207) stipulates that the government home health agency will still maintain ultimate control over key governing responsibilities.
The measure was sponsored by Assembly Democrats R. Bruce Land and Matthew Milam (both D-1st). They released the following joint statement
“Ultimately, patients are at the heart of this legislation. By allowing government operated home health agencies to partner with non-government home health agencies, patients will receive crucial services in a timely manner. This type of flexibility can assist these government agencies in fulfilling their missions of providing quality health care to residents.”
