Police Arrest VFW Burglary Suspect

CAPE MAY — Cape May police arrested Joseph V. Passalaqua, 54, of East Brunswick, July 28 about 2 a.m. for burglary, resisting arrest and aggravated assault.
Officer Eric Lashley was conducting a property check on the VFW Hall on Congress Street and found an intruder inside. The intruder failed to obey Lashley’s commands and fled the premises.
Officers Scott Krissinger, Steve Pascal and Sgt. Thomas Connelly searched the neighborhood. Krissinger located Passalaqua in a backyard and arrested him.
According to police, Passalaqua resisted arrest and struck and kicked Krissinger. Police seized Passalaqua’s vehicle and additional evidence. He was released on $20,000/10 percent bail and appeared for arraignment in Cape May Municipal Court on July 29.
