SETHMAN, BERNADETTE

Bernadette Sethman, age 90 of Villas, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Melvin E. Sethman. Survived by 1 sister, Frances Buechele of Pinehurst, NC. Daughter of the late John J. and Marie V. Brogan. Sister of the late John, Regina (DiFuria), Joseph, Andrew, James and Leo Brogan. Bernadette has 4 step children and 7 grandchildren. Very dear Aunt to 23 nieces and nephews as well as to many great grandchildren and great nieces and nephews. She retired after 38 years of employment in the Accounting Department of Arco Chemical/Atlantic Richfield Company. Bernadette was very involved with her Parish and was a longtime member. She was also a Good Samaritan and she cheerfully drove people to Church, errands and Dr. appointments for years helping many people in her community. Bernadette truly appreciated the beauty of nature and especially enjoyed seeing the nightly sunsets! She enjoyed gardening and taking long walks on the boardwalk and enjoyed time shelling on the beach. Bernadette enjoyed music and would sing along with her nieces and nephews as they were growing up. She was very interested in and fascinated with astronomy and could name all the planets in our solar system. Bernadette was a graduate of West Catholic High School in Philadelphia where she was born. Bernadette enjoyed crossword puzzles, sudoku and had a real talent for complex Math. She had a kind word for everyone and was always available to help someone out. A viewing for Bernadette will be held from 9am-10am on Friday, November 30th at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, N Cape May; a funeral mass will follow at 11am at Parish of St. John Neumann / St John of God Church, 680 Townbank Rd, N Cape May.
