DUFFY, RICHARD BRIAN
Richard Brian Duffy (Dick) 70, of Villas, New Jersey died June 2 after a long illness. Born February 28,1955 in Newton, Massachusetts to the late James S Duffy and Noella B (Bisson)Duffy. Richard is survived by his wife of 37 years Ella M (Blair) Duffy. His Children Daniel Duffy (Jessica) and Sarah Glenn (Rory) by his first wife Susan Duffy (Cole) and 5 grandchildren Charlotte, Macey, Morgan, Greta, and Vaughn. Richard was the 7th of 8 children raised in Glenhardie, PA survived by 6 brothers and sisters Carol Florian (the late Gordon), Steven Duffy, William Duffy (Maryanne), Katherine Slocum, (Bob) Jaqueline Gasbaro (Jack), Brian Duffy (Karen), and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his eldest brother James S. Duffy Jr. and nephew James S. Duffy III.
Dick was a graduate of Conestoga High school, Berwyn PA where he made many life-long friends. He spent many years as a resident of Norristown, PA and beverage manager at Cedarbrook Country Club in Blue Bell PA. Dick and Ella moved to Lower Township in 1990 and established Cape May Cleaning Service (formerly Beacon Cleaning) which he operated until his passing. Dick was an avid golfer, much beloved by his many friends from Ponderlodge and Cape May National. He enjoyed laughing with friends at Cape May Brewery Mug Club and the Villas VFW He was a long-time patron and cleaning service to the Villas, VFW, Villas Post Office, and the Fishing Club a few among the many businesses and residents throughout Cape May and Lower Township over 35 years. He will be deeply missed and remembered with stories filled with laughter and joy.
A Celebration of Richard's life will be held 1PM Wednesday, June 25th at the Villas VFW 6 East Delaware Parkway Villas NJ. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 12PM until the tie of service. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Dick's memory to the Villas VFW or NJ Palliative & Hospice Care. Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May has been entrusted with arrangements.
