GOETASKI, DR. JANET E.

Dr. Janet E. Goetaski of Cape May, passed away peacefully in her sleep from her residence on May 18, 2020.Janet was born on July 27, 1939 in Woodbury N.J., the daughter of the late Phyllis E. and Walter M. Goetaski. She was preceded in death by her twin brothers James C. and John G. Goetaski. Janet is survived by her niece Jacqueline Kubrick, great nephew Jamie Simone, great niece Brandy Bolton and her 5 great, great nephews, 1 great great niece, 1 great, great, great niece and 1 great, great, great nephew all of whom she loved dearly.Janet graduated from Woodbury High School; furthering her education at Rowan University when it was Glassboro State College. Janet continued her academic career there receiving her Bachelor’s in Education and Master’s as a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant. She continued to pursue her academic career receiving her Ed. D. in Early Childhood Education at the University of Delaware. Janet taught second grade for several years at Maude Abrams and finalized her career at Cape May County Special Services School District.Janet had a passion for travel vacationing with friends in the Poconos, traveling through several European and South American countries. She was active in the Exit Zero Jazz Festival and loved attending the theater on Broadway. She was a member of the Eastern Star since 2012. She loved walking along the shore be it Cape May or Sarasota, and her volunteer service and friends at the Cape May Regional Medical Center.Services will be private.
