BARKOVITCH, JOHN, 87, of Wildwood Crest, NJ passed away February 16, 2017. He was born and raised in Etna, PA to the late John and Anna Barkovitch. After graduating Carnegie Tech College, he later served in the US Army before working as a chemical engineer for Allied Chemical. John bought a home in Wildwood Crest in 1985 and summered here until moving permanently in 1995 from Colonia, NJ. John is survived by his wife of 65 years, June (formerly Lesic); children: David Barkovitch and Sandy (Kim) Kohler; sisters Anna Marie (Robert) Schwab and Joan Woods; and grandchildren: Erik, Ian, Haley, Alex, and Jake. He is predeceased by his son John R. Barkovitch and brother Robert Barkovitch. Memorial Mass will be Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame De La Mer Parish, Church of The Assumption, 7100 Seaview Ave., Wildwood Crest, NJ 08260. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Church. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Rt. 9 North, Swainton, NJ 08210.
