Terrance Dore, 43, was arrested two weeks after the Wildwood Police Department named him as a suspect in an attempted murder, Sept. 10.

WILDWOOD – The suspect in the stabbing case that caused the evacuation of a large area around Poplar Avenue in Wildwood, Sept. 10, was arrested two weeks later in Atlantic City.

Wildwood Police Department released information, Sept. 26, saying Atlantic City Police Department (ACPD) located Terrance Dore, 43, who was wanted as a suspect in the stabbing of a woman at 100 W. Poplar Ave., Wildwood. Dore, wanted for attempted murder, was taken into custody without incident by ACPD officers at approximately 4 p.m. Sept. 24.

At around 9 p.m., Sept. 10, the Wildwood Police Department received a call about an injured woman who claimed she had been stabbed. Police responded and a multi-jurisdictional effort that included members of the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team and a hostage negotiation team from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office was started.

According to a resident of the area, police evacuated people for blocks, not knowing what they would be facing. The resident said police had a tactical vehicle outside the suspect’s house for about an hour and a half as they tried to talk the suspect into coming out. One individual finally came out of the house and after being interviewed, the person was not charged with the crime. Dore remained on the loose for the next two weeks before being arrested in Atlantic City.

Dore is currently incarcerated in the Cape May County Correctional Facility.

The Wildwood Police Department recognized the efforts of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Wildwood Crest Police Department and Atlantic City Police Department for their assistance in capturing Dore.
