The problem with housing is Airbnb and short term rentals. It turned our residential neighborhoods into commercial districts. Because housing became a fast money maker, it drove up the cost of housing. There is a reason we have separate residential and commercial districts. Residential promotes community and safety. Commercial promotes job growth and generates revenue. Short term rentals take away revenue, job growth, community safety and drive up housing costs. Ban short term rental to restore businesses and community. If people want to run a business, do it in the business district.
