In our township, the Deputy Manager also serves as Head of Human Resources and is married to the Chief of Police. While this may not technically violate the law, it raises serious concerns about transparency, fairness, and potential conflicts of interest. HR should be an impartial department that all employees can trust, especially when it comes to hiring, discipline, and promotions.
