If I was hatching a long term plan for a quiet coup first I would insert my own people into schools, because if i can change young minds to my way of thinking and control I eventually control the country & the vote. I’d eliminate fossil fuels because if they can build an Industrial Revolution the lack of them can also tear it down. I’d make everything more expensive, money gives options and I don’t want that. I’d let in outside voters I give things to so they vote for me, create distrust and fighting among the masses, I like everybody at each others throat’s, that benefits me. Sound like now?
