How dare the moderator belittle the situation for Coast Guard Base workers by stating it’s no big deal they will be paid retroactively. Yes you are correct they will but how would your family be affected by not getting paid on time. Kids tuition, mortgage payments - none of that is due retroactively. So please unless you are actually experiencing this situation like we are dont you dare brush it off.
Moderator's Note: You misunderstood ,There was no belittling ,just an attempt to shed light on an assertion. Loss of a paycheck is always a problem but one made a little more bearable when one knows it is tempory. Do you remember how the county rallied to the aid of the "coasties"a few years ago during the last shutdown?... a chance to do the same may happen again.
