Great letter to the editor regarding MT schools 5 yr plan. Regarding literacy: A friend teaches at a local HS (not MT) IDK if MT follows the same program but she said that the MO for students with a reading disability is for that student to be classified and given an IEP. The IEP usually addresses the reading disability by requiring the student to read LESS. They allow them to use text to speech software. A better method would be to have a reading specialist help that student learn techniques and strategies to become a better reader.
