Art Hall's "Imagine NJ without its barrier island communities" editorial was absurd. Yes, we can imagine it without them. It would be better! Tourism has fueled the destruction of CMC. It's ruined the quality of life here. All of the farms, fields and woods are being buried under housing developments. Taxes are up, traffic is horrific year-round now. Barrier island were never meant to be built on. Rt 55 is complete. What harm it would do to extend it? Seriously? How many highways and bridges do we need leading to same islands? So much environmental destruction in the name of tourism!
