A SIC resident wondered why complain about the personalized benches on the promenade bc if those benches weren’t there, there’d be nowhere to sit.The City has provided benches both at JFK and other streets. The individual memorial benches come in a variety of colors, condition, and inscriptions, most like cemetery scripture, and people are hanging wreaths, notes, pictures and flowers. For me, it turns my walk or ride into a sad affair reading about all those dead and gone. The city has the resources to buy benches - the personal ones can go on the private property of those who purchase them.
