WRIGHT, CHARLES E. Charles Edward Wright, 80, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at his home in Havana, FL, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Atlantic City, NJ to the late Somers and Lucille Wright and grew up in Cape May Court House, NJ, where he graduated from Middle Township High School in 1962. His life is best defined as a life of service. First and foremost, to Jesus Christ, who he accepted as his Savior on January 3, 1973. The next most important thing in his life was family – he loved being a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle. He also loved his country and spent six years in the Army and served two tours in Vietnam as a Huey helicopter pilot. And finally, he served his community as a public servant with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Department where he began as a Corrections Officer, then became a Patrol Officer, a Detective, and finished his career as a Pilot in charge of the flight unit as Sergeant Wright. He loved the outdoors and in his free time you would find him on a boat fishing or at the golf course. During his retirement he loved playing golf at the Havana Country Club and traveling in his RV to visit family and friends across the country. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Mary Ann Wright. He is survived by his three children: Kevin Judyski, Charles "Ned" Wright, Jr., and Sharyn Kerwin (Lance); eight grandchildren: Tyler Judyski, Kerry Judyski, Christian Taylor Buzzard, Darby Wright, Tori Wright, Emma Kerwin, Grace Kerwin, and Lucille "Lucy" Kerwin; six greatgrandchildren; his sister, Sally Ann Garrison (Butch) and his nieces Debbi Burke and Dawn Perdomo and their children, Lauren Burke and Derek Perdomo. In lieu of flowers, Charles asked for donations to be made to Big Bend Hospice (https://bigbendhospice.charityproud.org/Donate), Northwoods Church (https:// www.northwoodschurchtallahassee .com/give), or The Living Stone Foundation, PO Box 52, Leominster, MA 01453. Memorial service to be held in Cape May Court House, NJ, at a later date. Condolences at www.radzieta.com
