The “Thunder Over the Waves Airshow,” featuring more than a dozen aerial acts, will be held Sept. 5 (practice day) and 6 (main event) over the beaches of the Wildwoods.
The free air show, whose aerial acts range from military parachutists to formation teams to solo propeller-driven performances and jet aerobatics, is being presented by the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement and Development Authority.
Spectators can watch the performances, which will be run by air bosses David Schultz and Greg Witmer, from the boardwalk or the beach, with the show’s center being at Spicer Avenue. The air show will be simulcast live on radio station 98.7 The Coast (WCZT) and streamed by downloading the 98.7 The Coast free app.
After the show, visitors are welcome to join the unofficial afterparty, The Wildwoods Food and Music Festival, at Byrne Plaza in downtown Wildwood from 2 to 8 p.m. The festival will feature vendors serving up food, sweets, classic boardwalk fare and more, and there will be craft vendors, a beer garden and live bands.
