NORTH WILDWOOD – Tips provided by the public helped the Police Department arrest and charge two Pennsylvania teenage boys for an aggravated assault on the boardwalk at 26th Avenue on June 8.
Police charged a 17-year old from Philadelphia and a 16-year old from Ivyland on juvenile complaints of third-degree aggravated assault and third-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault. The department announced the arrests on June 27. The two juvenile suspects had turned themselves in at police headquarters.
Police had been looking for the teens, who had participated in an assault on Lucas Golembewski of Lebanon, Pennsylvania. The victim’s father told WPVI-TV news they were on the boardwalk at about 7:30 p.m. June 8 when a brawl broke out.
The father told the news team that his son and the son’s girlfriend were at an arcade when a group of teens approached them, and someone made a comment to the girlfriend. The suspects confronted Golembewski’s son, and the father intervened.
As he was being pushed and shoved he saw the suspects kick his son in the face, he said. Lucas Golembewski was taken to the hospital with a suspected concussion.
Police gathered and released images of the teen suspects and of a blue Dodge Ram pickup they were seen operating.
In a prepared statement, the Police Department thanked the public for its cooperation and submission of numerous tips during the investigation.
