WILDWOOD – City police, working with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, arrested two city men Dec. 24 and charged them with sexually assaulting two juveniles.
Arisandro Estrada-Tapia, 20, and Israel Estrada-Tapia, 18, both of the 400 block of West Baker Avenue, were arrested in the early morning hours of Dec. 24 as the result of a joint investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victims Unit and city police.
No further information was available about the investigation.
Arisandro Estrada-Tapia was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Israel Estrada-Tapia was charged with one count of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, two counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Both men were lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, a first-degree charge can bring a sentence of 10 to 20 years in state prison upon conviction, second-degree charges five to 10 years in prison, and third-degree charges three to five years in prison.
