Two events are happening at Rea’s Farm this autumn: first up is the annual Harvest Fair on Saturday, September 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Harvest time is special on the 125-acre farm, where the motto is “Slow down, dig in and feel at home.” Guests can plan on a full day of fall fun, including food, music and attractions for all ages.
Do you have a strong sense of direction? See if you can successfully navigate the seven-acre corn maze.
Hayrides around the farm are a Harvest Festival highlight. Hop in the back of a hay-filled wagon and enjoy a leisurely tour in the fall temperatures. The hayride begins on the race track and winds its way around the pond, by the pumpkin patch, past the old beanery and through several corn fields. Alert onlookers could spot coyotes, osprey and eagles.
Obscura Brewing from Cape May Court House will have a truck on hand pouring their fall favorite. Sample sips from Nauti Spirits and Cape May Winery. Both will offer bottles for purchase.
A cornucopia of farm-fresh vegetables will be on sale in Rea’s Big Red Barn, and various food vendors will be on hand throughout the day to satisfy all cravings.
Live music will fill the crisp fall air throughout the afternoon, thanks to appearances by Wesley Ochos and Dan Barry.
“In the past it has been all ages from strollers to grandparents,” fifth-generation farmer Carol Rea Flynn said of the Harvest Festival. “It’s a great opportunity to experience a community event down on the farm in the heart of West Cape May.”
Rea’s Farm Market’s annual Hotrides and Hayrides event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18 from 10 am.-4 p.m.
Car enthusiasts flock to this popular car show to showcase their vehicles with peak fall colors as the backdrop. A large variety of cars, tractors, trucks and old and new hot rods will be on display. Car owners wishing to participate can register at Rea’s Farm on the day of the event, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Questions? Call 609-425-1818.
As during the Harvest Festival, guests can attempt the corn maze, stroll the pumpkin patch and enjoy a hayride around the property.
“Check out the cars, check out the food vendors and go for a hayride,” Rea Flynn said. “It’s always a wonderful day for the family.”
