The Arc of Cape May County is delighted to announce that it will be relocating to a new headquarters. Purchased at the end of June, the Arc will begin transitioning its operations to the old Holy Redeemer property on Route 9 in Swainton. These new headquarters offer more space and opportunities for staff and individuals in the organization’s care.
The main building on the property is approximately 15,000 square feet; the second building, formerly the Holy Redeemer Food Pantry, is 1,500 square feet. The Arc plans to continue using the smaller building as their own internal Food Pantry, with the option to convert to being a fully recognized partner with the South Jersey Food Bank in the next few years.
“We were so thrilled to be able to purchase this property and provide more resources for our community,” shared Majken Mechling, CEO of the Arc of Cape May County. “With 12 acres of land, we can comfortably house different services, and we are looking forward to the day we have made the full transition to our new home.”
Over the next nine months, all non-residential services will relocate to the Holy Redeemer property with a goal of having them in the building by the end of the year. The Day Program and Employment Services will also transition. The new headquarters will become home to a new internal Laundry Service and Food Pantry open to all Arc of Cape May group homes.
“An aspect of the new property we are especially excited about is that our individuals will be given the choice to train to work in the Food Pantry or Laundry Service as part of our Employment program,” Mechling said. “This grants them initial work experience and training that can help them find a job at a commercial location, whether with us or in the county.”
The Arc of Cape May County aims to have all departments fully transitioned by the end of 2025, with its Laundry Services launching in 2026. Any questions about the new headquarters, please reach out to author@arcofcapemay.org.
