STONE HARBOR – At the Stone Harbor Council work session Aug. 16, 2022, Frank Vaul was introduced to the governing body as the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) coordinator in the absence of Jonathan Lakose, who was then on deployment as a reservist.

The expectation at the time was that Lakose would return to his position as OEM coordinator when he returned in July 2023.

At the council meeting, July 18, Mayor Judith Davies-Dunhour announced that Vaul would remain the permanent OEM coordinator, even with Lakose’s recent return from military service.

Lakose was then appointed by the council to the borough Planning Board as an Alternate II, a position he held prior to his deployment.

Vaul has been an active member of the borough’s fire department for 20 years and has been involved in emergency response to all major storms in his time with the department.

Vaul informed the council that he completed all the required training for the position of OEM coordinator.
