STONE HARBOR – Following the departure of clerk Emily Dillon, who left the borough for another position in April, the council on May 6 appointed Jeanne Parkinson as the new clerk. She assumes her duties on May 19.

Parkinson is currently the deputy clerk in Ocean City. Prior to that appointment she served for nine years as the clerk for the City of Millville in Cumberland County. She holds all required state certifications.

Parkinson will be the third borough clerk in Stone Harbor since July 1, 2022, when Kimberly Stevenson assumed the post. Dillon replaced Stevenson on Sept. 11, 2023.

Council President Jennifer Gensemer praised the new appointee, saying that Parkinson has “demonstrated exceptional skill in managing public meetings with precision and respect for parliamentary procedure, overseeing elections with integrity, and ensuring full legal compliance in all municipal functions.”

Parkinson said, “I look forward to providing the governing body, residents and visitors with transparency, respect, and unwavering integrity. I am truly grateful for the opportunity.”
