State to Hold Public Meeting on Hospital Merger on Monday

Last March Cooper University Health System and Cape Regional Health System signed an agreement to merge. The past year has been a period of review by state regulators who must decide whether to give the green light to the merger.

The state Attorney General’s Office and the state Department of Health will hold a public hearing on the merger on Monday, Feb. 5. This is a step in the process required by the Community Health Care Assets Protection Act.

Members of the public interested in submitting comments or appearing before the hearing, either in person or remotely via Zoom, can do so. Written submissions will be entertained until the close of the hearing record on Monday, Feb. 12.

The hearing will take place at The Reeds at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor at 3 p.m. on Feb. 5. Information for participation via Zoom is available as part of the requested registration process. The public can register via this link or by reference to the procedure in the PDF notice of the meeting below.
