SEA ISLE CITY – The city bid thanks and farewell to two long-serving members of its governing body at the City Council’s June 24 meeting, the final council meeting before the annual reorganization.

Jack Gibson, a member of council since 2013, decided not to run for reelection in 2025, citing his age. Gibson, 91, was reelected in 2017 and 2021 before deciding to step down. Prior to serving on the council he was a member of the state Assembly from 1992 to 2002, when he lost a bid for another term. He came back and won his seat again in 2004 but left the Assembly in 2006.

Gibson’s seat is going to retired Sea Isle police Capt. Mike Jargowsky, a newcomer to elected office in the city. Jargowsky will take office at the reorganization meeting July 1.

J.B. Feeley at his last meeting as a Sea Isle City council member.

J.B. Feeley also is leaving the governing body. Feeley lost his bid for reelection to a third term on the council in the May municipal elections. He was first elected to council in 2017 and reelected in 2021. He is a retired senior project manager for the Casino Redevelopment Authority in Atlantic City.

Feeley lost in the May election to newcomer Ian Ciseck, who will join Jargowsky as new members on July 1. Ciseck is a real estate professional whose wife, Lauren, is a member of the city’s school board.

Both Gibson and Feeley were presented with proclamations of thanks for their service.
