SEA ISLE CITY – The City Council has renewed the city’s contract for insurance services with the Atlantic County Municipal Joint Insurance Fund.

Joint insurance funds are a way for public entities to pool their resources to insure for property, liability and workers compensation coverage. The Atlantic County JIF also provides risk management and loss control services.

It was organized in 1987 by seven municipalities as an affordable alternative to the rising cost of commercial insurance for towns in New Jersey.

Mayor Leonard Desiderio said at the July 23 council meeting, “For many years, maintaining the JIF’s high safety standards has helped Sea Isle City remain the successful town that it is.”

Desiderio’s comments were followed by the council’s renewing of the city’s membership in the JIF for a term of one year beginning Jan. 1, 2025.
