SEA ISLE CITY – Amid talk of beach fills and final efforts on road projects, Mayor Leonard Desiderio had an important message this week for man’s best friend: The new dog park in the city’s north end will be open for Memorial Day.
Desiderio added that the city may actually have a “bonus ribbon cutting ceremony” for the park on Community Day, Saturday, May 4. “We won’t know until next week if we can pull that off,” the mayor said, speaking at the City Council meeting Tuesday, April 23.
The new park, on Landis Avenue around Seventh Street, will have two areas offering accommodations for small and large dogs, with shade pavilions for the dogs and even one for the humans they bring with them. The formal bid for the project was just under $1 million, at $967,931.
