ROWAN, SALLY

ROWAN, SALLY Sally Rowan, daughter of the late Franklin Cosgrove and Josephine Richmond, passed away peacefully on April 2nd, 2024. She was predeceased by her husband John (Jack) and son William (Billy). Never caring for her given name, Sarah, she used "Sally" most of her life. Sally was born on October 13, 1937 and was raised in the Fairmount area of Philadelphia. She graduated from Hallahan Catholic High School and later met and married the love of her life, Jack. She eventually relocated to North Wildwood where they were owner/operators of Rowan Trucking. Fired by Jack for far too many speeding tickets, Sally began driving charter buses between Cape May and Atlantic City. After Jack's passing, Sally attended Cape May County Technical School and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her passion was elder care and she worked many years at Crest Haven Nursing Home. After retiring she provided private duty for family and friends. Sally was a dog mom to a variety of pups and some of these "kids" lived well into their teens. An avid gardener, Sally was known for having a productive vegetable garden. She often entered her prized tomatoes in contests throughout the county. She was an incredible chef but she never seemed to make the same dish the same way twice! She loved traveling. She travelled extensively throughout Europe and had many fun times with friends at her time share in Key West. Always the daredevil she thought nothing of jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, zip lining down a mountain, or parasailing. In her later years, Sally read everything she could get her hands on. She was a fan of evening game shows especially Family Feud and playing games on her iPad. Sally is survived by her brother, Patrick Cosgrove and many nieces, nephews, and also great and great-great nieces and nephews. Out of all she was especially fond of her Godson David McNulty III and his best friend Greg. She often referred to them as "her boys". Her greatest joy was attending every event and game for David and his sisters. She was affectionately known to all in the community as "Aunt Sally" and will be missed. Family and friends are invited to services at St. Ann Church in Wildwood on Friday, August 23 with Visitation at 10am and Mass at 11am. Condolences at www.radzieta.com
