ROBINSON, DAVID PAUL
David Paul Robinson – 78, a devoted husband, father, son and grandfather, known for his friendliness, generosity, and love of life passed away at his home peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 14, 2025.
Born on June 9, 1947 to John and Elizabeth Robinson in Philadelphia. PA, David has been a resident of Lower Township for over 60 years. Upon graduation from Quakertown Community Senior High School, David enlisted in the United States Navy – Seabees and served three proud tours in Vietnam.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Elizabeth Robinson and his first wife, Barbara (nee Reeves). He will be forever missed by his loving wife of 14 years, Beverly (Jordan) Robinson; his son, Jeffrey Robinson (Heather); his daughter, Sharon Urban (Mike); and six beautiful grandchildren, Allyson Cook, Georgia Jordan (Ryan Sluder), David Cook, Julia Cook, and Brooke Robinson. Dave is also survived by two brothers, Robert Robinson and James Clark.
Dave was proprietor of Robinson's Deli and Produce/Flower Stand in Villas for over 40 years, primarily known for his potato salad. Throughout the community, Dave was often referred to as “The Potato Salad Man”! Dave was a member and President of the Lower Cape May Regional School Board for 25 years, as well as a member of the Lower Township Elementary School Board. He was a local baseball coach, having a positive impact on the lives of many young people in our community. Among his interests, Dave raised and raced homing pigeons, which was a hobby inherited from his dad who was involved with homing pigeons during World War II.
Dave enjoyed traveling, especially to his favorite island, Bermuda. Most recently, Dave fulfilled his wish to visit Keukenhof Gardens in Holland to enjoy the spectacular view of the tulips. He loved hunting with his son, Jeff, and fishing with family and friends. He was a true animal lover.Dave was also an accomplished artist.
Attending Phillies games with family and cheering on the Eagles, Phillies and 76rs from his recliner with his favorite cat, Lucky made him happy. Dave and his wife loved sailing round trips on the Cape May Lewes Ferry with their daughter at the helm and watching the sunset from Douglass Park with his dog Shadow.
Dave was honored with a full military service, and interment was at the Veterans Field of Honor in Cold Spring cemetery.
