Police Looking for Green Creek Assault Suspect

GREEN CREEK – Middle Township police are looking for a suspect accused of striking a homeowner with a metal coffee cup and fleeing.

Police were dispatched to Lafayette Avenue in the Green Creek section of the township on Nov. 26 at approximately 5:45 a.m. on a report of an assault. Police said the victim, Michael O’Neill, told them he observed a light-skinned Black/Hispanic man in the side yard of his residence. When O’Neill confronted the man, he struck O’Neill in the face with a metal thermos cup, causing injury.

The assailant then ran east on Lafayette Avenue. He was described as a light-skinned Black/Hispanic male approximately 6 feet tall, wearing an orange hooded sweatshirt and black sweat pants with white writing on them.

The incident is being investigated by the Middle Township Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit. Anyone with information about it is asked to contact the township police 609-465-8700.
