DEL HAVEN – The Middle Township Police Department announced the arrest of Michael Bogue, 33, of a Lehigh Avenue address in Del Haven, and charged him with the assault of a Lafayette Avenue resident on Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 5:46 a.m.
Police went to Lafayette Avenue in Green Creek for a report of an assault. Upon police arrival it was learned the victim, Michael O’Neill had been struck with a metal water bottle by a man he located outside his home. According to the affidavit of probable cause provided by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, O’Neill heard the rustling of leaves outside his home and went outside to investigate. Once outside, he observed a man crouching on the side of his property. When he confronted the man, the person later identified as Bogue started walking towards him with an orange metal thermal cup in his right hand. O’Neill started backing up and took a pallet out of his truck to protect himself but started to stumble. At that time, Bogue allegedly struck him multiple times in the head with the metal cup, causing a black eye and a laceration above his left eye.
Bogue then allegedly fled from the area.
Bogue was later observed walking a dog with a woman, Katrina Fabio, 34, on Lehigh Avenue. Fabio was someone known to law enforcement. Bogue was wearing the same orange sweatshirt he wore when O’Neill took his picture with his cellphone. Police contacted Fabio and was shown a photograph of Bogue, but she told police she did not know him. When pressed with information received from other sources, Fabio said she knew the man in the photograph but did not want to identify him. Police received consent to search Fabio’s residence, but Bogue was not there.
On Nov. 27, Fabio is alleged to have been contacted via cellphone and she told the detective the suspect’s name was “Brian Miller” with a birthday of June or July 1991. Fabio also allegedly provided a phone number for one Brian Miller, which proved to be inactive. Fabio was ultimately charged with hindering.
On Friday, Nov. 29, Fabio was seen leaving her residence with a child and a man later identified as Bogue. The three entered a vehicle, which was later stopped by police, who identified Bogue. Both Bogue and Fabio were arrested.
A subsequent news release from the MTPD identified Bogue as being a resident of Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania. Bogue was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, and criminal trespassing. He was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
Fabio, of Del Haven, was charged with hindering and was released on a summons.
