To the Editor:
Last week’s article (July 30, “Middle to Study Creation of 2 Redevelopment Zones”) by Vince Conti about Middle Township’s plan to study the creation of redevelopment areas in Whitesboro is a prime example why local/community journalism is vital to keeping citizens informed about current events that can directly impact their lives.
It’s essential that area residents be part of any ongoing discussion and deliberation around redevelopment of their community. There are also abandoned buildings in the area that might be ideal for conversion to affordable housing.
It’s time to level the economic playing field in Cape May County, and affordable housing is a key component of that process.
