Safety of Medical Personnel

By Irene Remer, North Cape May

To the Editor:
A nurse has told us that surgical masks at the medical facility where she works are in such short supply, and are being recycled after being sanitized. These masks disintegrate after time and thus provide no protection, in my opinion. To avoid using recycled masks, many employees carry their own into work for their respective shifts. How is it that nurses aren’t provided enough necessary equipment to protect them?
