Phillies Frustrations

By Joe Murphy, Town Bank

To the Editor:

I’m loyal to the Phillies, but not to their owned or to their management! Particularly after August 29th’s debacle. They have, and had, money to get really good pitching. Here’s what I found by researching. They get $100 million a year from NBC to broadcast their games, which works out to $2.5 billion over their 25-year deal. They also get $100 million from Comcast. According to Forbes, the Phillies are worth $2.3 billion dollars. Here’s the candy added: they own 25% of Comcast sports. They are not needy, just cheap!
