Ghosted by Our Parents

Letters to the Editor 2019

By Robert Diiorio, Seaville

To the Editor:

After almost 50 years in our home, we decided to move. Months were spent looking for the ideal place.

My wife started an extensive search, and she thinks that she is the one who found an ideal place for our new abode. I always believed that God had led us there, but I was wrong. It came from a “much higher power” – my wife.

My parents’, and my wife’s parents’, final resting place sits just behind our new house. This cannot be a coincidence. Hopefully, at some time in the far-off future, we will also be interred there.

When the pups and I take our late-night walk, I go to the end of the street and remind our parents that we don’t need any extra company.

I, however, intent to come there every night for a visit! They better leave the lights on for me. I am afraid of the dark.
