Cape May County String Band Looking for New Members

By Verano

To the Editor:
The Cape May County String Band is a non-profit organization founded in 1986. Our performances feature the traditional String Band music heard at the Philadelphia Mummers’ Parade on New Year’s Day. Several of our members are past or present members of Philadelphia String Bands. But did you know we are the official string band of Cape May County? Yes, our freeholders voted to give us that honor.
We play at many charity events all over the county as well as assisted living facilities. We love to play and are looking for new members to join us. The ages of our members range from teens to octogenarian. We rehearse at the 4-H Building in Court House on Wednesday evenings. If you are interested in playing any instrument no matter if you’re just beginning, you can learn from some very talented and experienced members. If you want to be a dancer and wear those audacious costumes, we want you too! No dues, no applications, just come and have fun. Hope to see you soon.
You can contact us through our website: capemaycountstringband.org or by calling Anthony at 522-0889 or John at 884-1312.
