Merry Christmas.
No, it’s not too early. Like it or not, another season to celebrate nativity is knocking at our door, and it is still the most wonderful time of the year to point people to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The reason I am reaching out to you, my devoted readers, is because God has opened the door for us to bring Contemporary Christian singer Kathy Troccoli back to our area for two concerts, Dec. 7-8, both at 6 p.m.
Kathy Troccoli has a legendary status in Contemporary Christian music. Her numerous accolades include 24 recordings, 18 number-one radio hits, 19 Dove Award nominations, two Dove Awards, and three Grammy nominations. In addition to her success in Christian music, she has made an impact in the mainstream arena as well, scoring a top Billboard hit with “Everything Changes,” as well as a top 10 single with the iconic Beach Boys, entitled “I Can Hear Music.”
Kathy is as comfortable singing her heart out in a stadium, alongside Billy Graham to Pope John Paul, as she is belting out a big band tune or crooning her velvet voice on a jazz standard at the iconic Metropolitan Room, in New York City. This is why the candlelight setting of a Christmas concert was tailor-made for her presentation. We are giving you two chances to receive this awesome gift.
There is no cost for you or your church, family, or neighborhood. We, at The Lighthouse Church, have underwritten all of her expenses. I wanted to share this blessing with the entire Cape May County community.
What moves me the most is the freewill offering that will go to a cause dear to my heart, which is the need to celebrate those born with Down syndrome. My two brothers, Martin and Isaac, and my niece, Hannah, have it.
Kathy’s “Go Light Your World Foundation” has partnered with “Up with Downs.” The Down Syndrome Support Group of Shreveport / Bossier City (Up with Downs) enhances the quality of life for people with Down syndrome by providing resources and support to those individuals, families, professionals and the community.
We host these events with three main goals – promote acceptance and inclusion for people with Down syndrome, raise funds for education, research, and advocacy programs, and positively influence local and national practice.
The entire Love offering, taken at each concert, will be given to this wonderful organization. How could we say no to a noble cause?
While tickets are free, they are being used as a way to offer this night to the friends and family of those within your network. Once we hear from you, we will send you the amount of tickets that you think you will need, so I hope you come.
There truly are no strings attached. This is a chance for us to light up our world for a precious group of people. Please take us up on this.
This will be my 23rd Christmas as the pastor of The Lighthouse Church. I love Jesus, Christmas, and Cape May County, and I hope you will receive this gift in the spirit it is offered – as a way to make Christmas real to those who desperately need its message at a time like this.
With various concerts available, many come with a price tag that puts it out of reach. This is why I wanted the only cost to be an offering made to Up with Downs.
Please call The Lighthouse Church at (609) 465-6690, and let us know you are coming, or if you need tickets, posters, flyers, etc. If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask them.
I’m praying to see you in December because of Jesus.
