OCEAN CITY — A two-alarm fire caused extensive damage to a home in the north end of the city Friday night.

On Aug. 8 at 10:50 p.m., A-Platoon and Ocean City Police responded to a structure fire in the area of 1st and Atlantic avenues.

Battalion-1 Chief J. Quigley Jr. established command and provided an initial size-up. A Working Fire Dispatch was then struck, calling in all available off-duty personnel. A second alarm was eventually struck, bringing more resources to the scene.

Engine 1 arrived moments later, securing a water supply, and stretched to the rear of the property where firefighters were met with heavy fire in the rear of the structure. Firefighters knocked down the bulk of the fire and then worked inside the building, trying to mitigate damage to the structure.
