NORTH WILDWOOD – The Police Department is aware of at least two recent incidents of vehicles becoming stuck after their wheels went off concrete beach ramps.

According to Lt. Jason Robinson, the department responded to one incident and was made aware of a second through social media.

On Friday, Sept. 12, the police responded to Beach Access 2, located at Second and Ocean Avenue. Police learned the driver was attempting to enter the beach when he drove off the ramp. The driver was not injured, and Bob’s Auto Body responded to remove the vehicle.

As officers were attempting to have the vehicle removed, a man who was not involved with the stuck vehicle arrived on the scene, became disorderly and refused to leave. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor charge. He was not named.

The Police Department reminds the public that anyone desiring to operate a motor vehicle on North Wildwood beaches for sport fishing or any other approved recreational purpose must apply for a license at the city clerk’s office during regular business hours.
