No Injuries in Avalon House Fire

No injuries were reported in an Avalon house fire that began about 1 a.m. April 12.

AVALON – At just before 1 a.m. April 12, the Avalon Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fully involved dwelling fire at 156 32nd Street. The Avalon Fire Department duty engine arrived and initiated a full first alarm response.

The fire was brought under control at approximately 1:50 a.m. Chief Ed Dean called a second alarm to provide relief manpower at the scene.

The fire began in a single-family, wood-frame dwelling under construction. The dwellings on either side of the building of origin received damage during the fire.

The Avalon Fire Department was assisted by: Avalon EMS, Stone Harbor, Sea Isle City, Ocean View, Cape May Court House, Rio Grande fire companies, the Cape May County Fire Coordinator, and Middle Township EMS.

No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation by the Avalon Police Department and the Cape May County Fire Marshal.
