Join us for our second summer Family Science Night on Thursday, August 8 from 5 to 7 p.m. Spend the evening rotating through fun, hands-on activity stations and learn about science and nature. Meet live reptiles, decorate your own nature journal, design a whale tail and name it, make pollinator seed bombs, play a science sorting game, go on a scavenger hunt, and just added for this event: Join educators from Clean Ocean Action for activities around “Watershed Mindfulness.”
Learn about your connectedness to our vast network of waterways that ultimately leads to the ocean by participating in two activities about nonpoint source pollution, or people pollution; how each of us contributes to ocean pollution; and how we can help to stop ocean pollution.
We have a special Stargazing on Monday, August 12 from 8 to 11 p.m. to view the Perseid Meteor Shower! Join us for a special presentation by Dr. Frank Toriello from ACCC and bring your beach chairs and beach blankets to relax in our courtyard viewing the glory of shooting stars across the night sky!
And don’t forget that every day, except Tuesdays, at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 1:30 p.m., the Cape May Point Science Center is open for tours that highlight the history of Cape May Point, the historic building we call home, and the science projects we support and interpret. Tours can be booked in advance, but walk-ins are always welcomed!
