World premiere musical review presented by ELTC

By On Deck Staff

The Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company proudly presents, “All the Things You Are,” a world premiere musical revue Wednesdays through Saturdays from July 16-26 at 8:30 p.m. where the company is in residence at the First Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes Street, in Cape May.
Jerome Kern (1885-1945) was a master of melody who published more than 650 songs for 117 musical shows (including “Show Boat”), plays, and films.
ELTC Artistic Director Gayle Stahlhuth chose a medley of Kern’s overtures from 1914-1923 as pre-show music for the current production, “You and I.”
Anne and Michael McFrederick will perform. Michael is also currently is the composer/music director and one of the singers in the hit off-Broadway comedy “Around the World in a Bad Mood,” now playing in its eighth year. Anne is a 25-year veteran of the New York cabaret scene.
Stuart Hodes, a Broadway veteran of over a dozen shows and one of Martha Graham’s partners for many years, choreographed a soft shoe number for “All the Things You Are” that will be performed by Stahlhuth.
Meet the cast and crew at the opening night party after the show on July 16 at The Merion Inn, 106 Decatur St., with free food and a cash bar. There is an after-show discussion with the cast on Friday, July 18. For information and reservations, call 609-884-5898 or visit www.eastlynnetheater.org.
Meanwhile, there are only a few performances left of the delightful 1923 Philip Barry comedy, “You and I,” with a cast of seven terrific ensemble performers. It closes its successful run on July 12.
Tickets are $25 general admission; $20 for seniors and those with disabilities and their support companions; and $10 for full-time students. Children ages 12 and under are always free.
East Lynne’s popular American short stories read on B&B porches at 4 p.m. on Thursdays, “Tales of the Victorians,” continues, with a ticket price of only $7.
The next few locations are: July 10: Dormer House, 800 Columbia Ave.; July 17: The Fairthorne, 111 Ocean St.; July 24: Victorian Lace Inn, 901 Stockton Ave.; and July 31: Inn of Cape May, 7 Ocean St. The Dinner-and-an-ELTC-Show-Combo is available.
